So, now I would like to share with ya something that I got to learn just the last night. The Origin of Halloween. A long story .. really. Ever wondered when the Halloween's origin dates back to? To the ancient festival called Samhain -- a festivals of the Celts, who lived some 20 centuries ago in the area that is now in Ireland. The story says that they used to celebrate their New Year on 1st November.
This particular day beginning of the dark, cold winter of the year after the summer comes to an end. It was due to this cold nights and shortage of adequate food, that this period was often associated with deaths. Celts believed that it was on the night before their new year, that the bar between the worlds of the living and dead became blurred and hence on the night of October 31st, they celebrated Samhain, when it was believed that the otherworldly spirits of the dead returned to the Earth. This was the origin of the Halloween, they said. Interesting, isn't it?
